Great experience from start to finish. Boris provided me with a competitive flat rate estimate based on the items that needed to be moved (a packed one-bedroom apartment) and the... read more 4-man team that arrived got right down to business, handling the job quickly and efficiently while being careful with all of our items. It was a tough move but they made it easy. Honest, hardworking crew. Definitely recommend.

I worked with this company a couple of years ago. They worked hard and I always feel bad when movers have to go upstairs, but they were at times really... read more rough with my belongings and by the time we moved everything, a few of my pieces of furniture were damaged. I pointed out the damages to the guy leading the team and he tried to deny it was their fault and complained that they were "antiques" - only one of the pieces was an antique and it is in impeccable condition. I am OCD about my belongings and take very good care of them. One of the pieces was the bottom of a cabinet that couldn't possibly break except when being moved. Ultimately, they found a way to make repairs on the spot that solved the problem. But I've never had anything damaged before when moving, I didn't appreciate having to argue about it. And the team still breathed down my neck wondering about their tip. I'm ready for my next move and just remembering this experience has me on edge about who to hire this time.
The time I moved before that the movers that I used treated everything as though it was their own. They were super careful. If I could remember who that was, I'd have used them again.

I used Green Line movers back in 2018 after a friend recommended them to me. At that time, they had lost my lululemon yoga mat, but everything else was superb.... read more So I shrugged it off even though I was not reimbursed (mind you, a ~$100 value).
Today we used them again and the moving truck broke down. It took almost 2 hours to get the battery replaced, nearly costing us our move and forcing our belongings to be held overnight.
Additionally, we had 3 TVs and now only have 2. When I called to report the missing TV (only about 20 minutes after they left), they insisted I was mistaken. They assured me the missing TV was not in their truck. I am not sure how something as large as a TV gets "lost."
If you are reading this, book with another company. They certainly made what is an already stressful day 10x more stressful.
EDIT:
After having one of the movers come back to my apt to ensure my TV was not actually present (they did not believe me), the business owner did reach out, apologize, and offer me reimbursement.
My TV (with tax) cost $218 and they gave me $150 for it.

Green Line showed up early, brought all the necessary equipment (dollies, etc.) and quickly provided the requested paperwork to our building.

Fastest and most organized movers we've ever used. Will definitely be recommending them to all friends, family, and coworkers!

Loved this company! Affordable with top of the line service. They brought their own wardrobe boxes that came in handy! Would definitely recommend and use again.

We hired a team to pack and move for a one bedroom apartment. The estimate was fine but despite warning the person I spoke with on the phone about how... read more many books and other things we had, we ended up needing more boxes. Workers showed up a half an hour early which was a little inconvenient as we had no time to prepare in the morning.
The team was a bit scatterbrained throughout the packing process, packing boxes of things seemingly at random, just grabbing items within arms length and tossing them in a box, all (found during unpacking) with very little regard to the safety of the contents--not to mention packing things like kitchen cleaners with food items. Many boxes were packed with paper wrapping with other items just tossed into the boxes with no regards to the content. I really do not want to understate how frustrating the unpacking process has been because of this. I wouldn't recommend this company for packing.
I will say: the team did a great job with the MOVING part of the process. They were extremely efficient moving things and loading them into their truck and unloading was super fast, despite some of the space issues we had getting things up a set of stairs. Had we packed ourselves, I don't think I would have many complaints.

I have moved 4 times within NYC in the last 5 years. I have used 2 movers in the past which were pretty good too. To be honest, at first,... read more I was a little skpetical to choose NYC as I hadn't used them before and never heard about them but they were quoting a really good price for the move and I decided to go with them.
They were 30 minutes late to arrive but they called me right on time to tell me that they were stuck in the traffic and will arrive soon. It wasn't a problem for me at all. Once they arrived, they packed everything a little more carefully than the other movers I had used in the past. They notified me of any defects that they found on the furniture before moving so that I am aware of any preexisting conditions.
They delivered everything without any damage (as opposed to my last moves with the other movers). They did well in terms of time as well. Overall, I was pretty happy with them and will definitely recommend them.
(Usually, I tip 20% for the move but with their low price and the quality of service, I ended up tipping 30%)

I gave them 3 stars since the got the job done.
We booked this company since it was cheaper than others and promised to provide paperwork my building needed.... read more The booking of the job was fine. Providing COI took a little back and forth, but okay. The company originally automatically assigned 9am as the start time. I had them change to 8am since the elevator window available in my departure building was 8-11am. They changed it with no problem. BUT on the day of the move, at 8am, the movers called and said "they had a flat tire" and they should be here in 40 min. I told them to drive to the back entrance where the loading dock was. By 9am, they still didn't show up. I called them and asked them where they were and told them again to park at the loading dock again. OKAY.THEY JUST WANTED TO START THE DAY AT 9AM. I WASN'T BORN YESTERDAY. They finally arrived a few minutes after 9am and told me they were at the front door. I told them a 3rd time to park at the loading dock. Finally, they came up and started moving. PROBLEM 1- One guy always pulled down his mask while another guy put his mask below his nose. I had to constantly remind them about their masks and even offered a new one to them. One guy put on our mask and got rid of it within 5 min and continued to wear his loose mask below his nose for the rest of the day. PROBLEM 2- they did not bring enough moving supplies. They used our bubble wraps to wrap our TV and monitors and didn't wrap anything with one of our monitors when we clearly informed them about these items. Without our bubble wraps, they would have nothing to wrap our TV or monitor. They also didn't bring enough plastic wraps and mostly using the one we prepared. When we had a kitchen cart to move which we listed, they said they couldn't move it since there were some glass items in it. They were just standing there for minutes doing nothing and insisted that we put everything in a box. We told them we ran out of boxes. Eventually, I put all glass items in a separe bag and suggested to wrap the cart with our own plastic wraps and solved the problem. What did they expect? To throw out the cart and everything in it? PROBLEM 3- Once we arrived at the new building, they decided to take a lunch break. When you were late for more than one hour in the morning already, shouldn't you hurry up and get the job done? A lunch break during a move without prior consent is unheard of. PROBLEM 4 -Throughout the move, they kept complaining there were more stuff they had to move than expected. That was totally BS. We already moved a number of boxes on our own in advance and took a number of items with us on Uber on the day of. The number of boxes and each item were clearly listed in our fee quote. We still tipped them 25% at the end of the day. We will never use them again considering how unprofessional they were.

Would recommend! NYC Green Line Movers were responsive over email, arrived on time, and managed the move well. Their staff were polite, efficient, and easy to work with. I also... read more thought they were reasonably priced. I forgot to include a couch and elevator (1 floor) in my original estimate, so they recalculated the price on the spot (an additional $70, which I thought was reasonable).
